RHCS Thanksgiving Feast

At school the boys have a Thanksgiving Feast every year. Being a Christian school, they can celebrate with the Christian aspect of Thanksgiving tradition. This was for the first and second graders. They had turkey and all the trimmings. All the students came as either a pilgrim or Native American of the Wampanoag Tribe from costumes they had made. This is really neat because of the trip to Plimouth Plantation in June. This is the tribe that was part of the first Thanksgiving. I was able to attend and enjoy the afternoon with the boys.
Zachy the Native American and Jarod the Pilgrim.

Zachy ate some of the turkey(although he did ask for BBQ sauce, haha). He loved the corn and cornbread!
Jarod had three full platefuls of everything, except the greenbeans. He loved it, especially the mashed potatoes with gravy.
Jarod and his teacher Mrs. Ripka.

Zachy and his teacher Mrs. Horvath.
What a nice afternoon, we are thankful the boys were able to celebrate Thanksgiving the way it is meant to be and for their wonderful teachers!
I think the boys were thankful for apple cider, they loved it!

  1. It is so good that the kids are learning the true meaning behind Thanksgiving. I love the costumes. A whole lot of effort went into this - great job by all!!
